«kiDnap GAME»: Lee Joon-gi and Sakaguchi Kentaro to face off in international thriller due in October

After a 3-year absence from the small screen, Lee Joon-gi will be back with « kiDnap GAME« an ambitious international thriller now confirmed for broadcast on Channel A in October 2026.

The drama will feature actors from several Asian countries, and promises a large-scale plot taking place simultaneously in seven different cities.

A deadly game across Asia

«kiDnap GAME» will follow an unusual kidnapping case that takes place between Seoul, Tokyo, Taipei, Singapore, Bangkok, Naha and Manila.

Seven people find themselves involved in a mysterious survival game where each is given a different mission. To save their loved ones and stay alive, they must complete their objectives before the other participants. The project is a collaboration between South Korean, Japanese and Hong Kong production teams.

Lee Joon-gi as a father ready for anything

Lee Joon-gi plays Han Ki-joo, a former genius doctor living in Seoul.

His life is turned upside down when his visually impaired daughter is kidnapped. Caught up in a vast conspiracy, he must make extreme decisions to try and find her.

The role marks the actor's first return to a TV series in several years, and could allow him to explore a darker, more emotional side of his acting.

Sakaguchi Kentaro as an elite detective

Opposite him, Japanese star Sakaguchi Kentaro will play Niide Toshiro, a Tokyo-based investigator desperate to catch those responsible.

The character is set to cross paths with Han Ki-joo on several occasions, in a confrontation that promises to be one of the drama's main stakes.

A prestigious Asian cast

The project will also bring together several well-known actors from across Asia. Taiwanese actress Alice Ko, known for the success of Someday or One Day, will play Christina, an influencer whose husband is kidnapped.

Filipino actor Joel Torre will play Miguel, a cab driver who joins the game to save his grandson, while Stanley Yau, a member of the Hong Kong band MIRROR, will play an international lawyer named Andy.

One of the most ambitious Asian productions of the year

With its transnational plot, international cast and large-scale survival concept, «kiDnap GAME» promises to be one of the most ambitious Asian projects of 2026.

«kiDnap GAME» will be broadcast in October on Channel A.
