tvN has officially confirmed the main cast of its upcoming fantasy drama " The Office Worker Who Sees Destiny ", which will bring together Seo In-guk and Krystal Jung in a story combining the supernatural, the corporate world and power struggles.
Adapted from a popular web novel, the drama will be directed by Kim Jae-hyun («Dynamite Kiss») and written by Park Hye-jin, screenwriter of «Café Minamdang».
Seo In-guk as an employee who can read destiny
Seo In-guk will play Choi Young-hoon, A man born with a destiny all mapped out for him: to become a shaman and bring about great upheavals in the world. Yet his only dream is to lead an ordinary life.
Gifted with the ability to read other people's destinies through palmistry and physiognomy, he can discover a person's future simply by holding their hand. After living in isolation from the outside world for 25 years, he took his first steps in society when, at the age of 33, he joined the large Pilsan Trading company as an entry-level employee.
But as he tries to hide his powers, he soon finds himself confronted with the influence games, corruption and power struggles that plague the company.
Krystal plays an heiress rejected by her own family
Krystal will play Im Yeon-hee, a woman from a powerful chaebol family. Removed from her home after a childhood incident, she grew up abroad before returning to Korea with solid experience and the determination to reclaim her position.
In the midst of a battle for the succession of the family business, she crosses paths with Choi Young-hoon. When she discovers his extraordinary abilities, the two decide to join forces in a bid to regain control of their destiny.
Known for her intelligence and survival instincts, Im Yeon-hee also reveals a more sensitive side to her relationship with Choi Young-hoon.
A blend of fantasy and corporate drama
The production team said, «We're thrilled to be working with Seo In-guk and Krystal. We're confident that the way the characters overcome obstacles with their divination skills will bring both suspense and entertainment to viewers.»
With its blend of fantasy, rivalries within a large industrial group and romance, «The Office Worker Who Sees Destiny» promises to be one of tvN's most original projects of the coming year.
The drama is currently scheduled for broadcast in first half of 2027.
