SBS took advantage of its «SBS DRAMA: NEXT EPISODE» event to unveil several projects for its 2027 schedule. Among the most notable announcements were the return of Park Shin-hye in season 2 of «The Judge From Hell» and the confirmation of Shin Hae-sun as the heroine of the new drama «Dash».
These two projects had not yet been revealed in the channel's official line-up, and were the main surprises of the presentation.
Park Shin-hye to return in “The Judge From Hell 2”
At the event, Studio S CEO Hong Sung-chang confirmed: «The actress Park Shin-hye, who is currently pregnant, will return next year with season 2 of « The Judge From Hell« . »
Broadcast in 2024, the first installment told the story of Kang Bit-na, a demon from hell who took possession of a judge's body. Played by Park Shin-hye, she saw her vision of justice evolve after meeting detective Han Da-on, played by Kim Jae-young.
The series was a huge success thanks to its blend of fantasy, romance and criminal investigation.
For the moment, SBS has not revealed any details about the plot of this second season, nor confirmed the return of the rest of the cast.
Shin Hae-sun cast in romantic thriller “Dash”
Another important announcement: Shin Hae-sun will headline « Dash« . This drama is billed as a mix of suspense, mystery and romance.
The actress will play Min Hwa-young, a prosecutor in charge of the No. 1 Special Investigation Division of the Seoul Central Prosecutor's Office. Bright and determined, she has dedicated her life to uncovering the truth about her mother's mysterious death, but her life is turned upside down when her husband suddenly becomes the prime suspect in a murder case.
Torn between her love for him and her duty as a magistrate, Min Hwa-young must choose how far she is prepared to go to uncover the truth.
The production team said, «Shin Hae-sun was the only actress capable of fully embodying Min Hwa-young's desperate and harrowing journey to find the truth, even at the cost of her own destruction.»
The producers also added: «We hope viewers will look forward to this project and take a keen interest in it, as it prepares to dash straight into their hearts.«
SBS prepares for an ambitious 2027
With these two announcements, SBS continues to invest in its successful franchises while developing new original productions.
The channel has also confirmed several other dramas for the coming months, including « Agent Kim Reactivated« , « Flex x Cop »season 2, « Good Partner »season 2 or « Doctor X: Age of the White Mafia ".
While precise dates have yet to be confirmed, “The Judge From Hell 2” and “Dash” are already among the most eagerly awaited Korean productions of 2027.
