The drama “Reborn Rookie” is actively preparing for its launch, and has already revealed a first glimpse of the chemistry of its cast. Images of the script reading have been shared, featuring Lee Jun-young, Lee Ju-myoung, Jeon Hye-jin, Jin Goo and Son Hyun-joo.
Led by creator Kim Soon-ok, director Ko Hye-jin and screenwriter Hyun Ji-min, this first meeting gave a promising taste of the dynamic between the actors.
A second life of power and strategy
“Reborn Rookie” tells the story of Kang Yong-ho, a powerful conglomerate chairman renowned for his business genius. After an accident, his destiny changes when he wakes up in the body of a young soccer player, Hwang Jun-hyun. Forced to start again from scratch, he becomes a mere junior employee in his own company, while navigating the power struggles associated with succession.
Lee Jun-young plays Hwang Jun-hyun, bringing an ambitious, passionate character to life and infusing the reading with dynamic energy. Opposite him, Lee Ju-myoung plays Kang Bang-geul, the hidden heiress of a large family, whose personality oscillates between apparent freedom and hidden ambitions.
Jeon Hye-jin immerses himself in the role of Kang Jae-kyung, a determined woman ready to do anything to achieve her goals, while Jin Goo plays Kang Jae-sung, a character marked by a profound sense of inferiority, which he conveys with accuracy.
Finally, Son Hyun-joo impresses as Kang Yong-ho, displaying an imposing presence and natural authority, the image of a man who has built his empire through sheer force of will.
The production team emphasized the involvement of the actors from this first reading, evoking an already immersive atmosphere, as if the drama were coming to life before their very eyes. They promise a series blending complex relationships and intense psychological struggles around issues of power and inheritance.
“Reborn Rookie” will air from May 30 at 10:40 pm (Korean time) on JTBC and is awaiting a platform for international broadcast.
