A new historical romance project is attracting attention with the confirmation of Jung So-min and Kim Yo-han in the cast of “Sunrise Moon”(working title).
This drama will blend fantasy, romance and historical intrigue in a universe set in the Joseon era, with a story centered on revenge and destiny.
A heroine in search of revenge
The story follows Heo Seol-hee, a woman who has lost everything after the destruction of her family. Thrust into the past, she sets out to change her destiny and take revenge, in a battle marked by pain and determination.
Jung So-min will play the role of this brilliant heroine, described as a prodigy since childhood, ready to do anything to regain what she has lost.
Opposite her, Kim Yo-han will play Lee Hyun, a man living cut off from the world, locked behind the walls of his own universe. Their meeting should play a key role in the story's evolution.
The screenplay, written by Kim Eun-yu, won an award at a competition in 2023, where it was praised for the quality of its characters and the solidity of its narrative structure, hinting at a story with great potential.
The project also marks Jung So-min's return to the historical fantasy genre several years after her last role in this genre, while it will be Kim Yo-han's first experience in a historical drama.
Directed by Park Won-guk, known for several recent projects, filming is due to start this year, with broadcasting scheduled for 2027.
