After another international success with his kdrama «My Royal Nemesis», which began airing on May 8, Lim Ji-yeon has already found his next project.
According to the Korean media, the actress will headline the drama “Alike”, a dramatic thriller presented as a modern version of “The Prince and the Pauper” mixed with a story of social revenge. The project will also mark a new challenge for the actress, as she is set to play a double role.

An ordinary heroine driven to vengeance
In “Alike”Lim Ji-yeon will play Lee Eun-seok, an ordinary young woman with a warm and optimistic character, attached to her family and convinced that work and effort must be honestly rewarded.
But her life is turned upside down when she is unfairly sacrificed after joining a company where she bears a striking resemblance to the heiress of the owning family.
Fired and then sent to prison instead of another, she eventually joins other victims of the system to take revenge on the powerful people responsible for her downfall.
The drama is described as a revenge story where a once benevolent heroine gradually evolves into a gray area between good and evil.
An intense new role after several successes
In recent years, Lim Ji-yeon has established herself as one of the most sought-after actresses in the Korean industry, thanks to her ability to alternate between vulnerable, manipulative and deeply ambiguous characters. Her portrayal of Park Yeon-jin in «The Glory» particularly impressed viewers with her intensity and charisma, to the point of becoming one of the most memorable antagonist roles in a K-drama in recent years. Since then, the actress seems to favor projects where emotions, psychological conflicts and morally complex characters take center stage. With “Alike”, she could once again explore this gray area between victim and anti-heroine, in a drama that promises as much social tension as psychological suspense.
His new drama “My Royal Nemesis”is also off to a very good start. According to the Korean media, the series has become the first Friday-Saturday SBS drama to reach the top spot in the weekly Netflix Top 10 non-English series ranking in its first week of broadcast, even in France!
With “Alike”, the actress should once again explore a darker, more intense register in a story mixing revenge, romance and social criticism, and we have no doubt she'll come through with flying colors!
