Netflix has unveiled a long-awaited first look at Season 2 of « Bloodhounds« confirming the return of a brutal universe where boxing, money and violence intertwine without concession. After a first season marked by intense fights and a dark dive into the world of loan sharks, the series is about to take another step forward.
A wider, international battle
Based on a popular webtoon, Bloodhounds follows 2 young boxers unwillingly drawn into the most dangerous circles of organized crime. In this new season, after taking down a network of illegal moneylenders, Gun-woo and Woo-jin find themselves up against a far more ambitious target: an underground boxing league operating on an international scale.
Woo Do-hwan reprises his role as Gun-woo, a promising boxer desperate to pay off his mother's debts, while Lee Sang-yi once again plays the role of Woo-jin, his loyal friend and former marine. Their bond, already under strain, will this time be confronted by a threat of a whole new level.
Rain, an antagonist built for violence
The big news this season is the arrival of Rain, who plays Baek Jeong, the ruthless leader of this underground league. Endowed with overwhelming strength and a terrifying aura, he represents a danger capable of breaking even the most seasoned champions. More than just an adversary, Baek Jeong seeks to draw Gun-woo into the murky affairs of his empire, further blurring the line between survival and corruption.
Faced with this enemy, Gun-woo and Woo-jin will have to risk more than just their careers: their bodies, principles and loyalties will be put to the test in battles that promise to be even more violent and desperate than in the past.
