The highly anticipated Korean Netflix series “The WONDERfools”continues to reveal itself with a new poster and teaser that set the tone for an adventure as wild as it is spectacular.
Set in 1999, at a time marked by apocalyptic fears, the drama follows a group of misfits who suddenly acquire superpowers. Far from being conventional heroes, they must unite to face the threats that threaten the city of Haeseong.
The main poster unveiled today perfectly illustrates this chaotic atmosphere. It shows Park Eun-bin, Cha Eun-woo, Choi Dae-hoon and Im Seong-jae run together, leaving behind them a city in total disarray, with hovering cars and crumbling buildings. Under the slogan «Lovable outsiders will save the world», the series fully embraces its offbeat tone.

Uncontrollable powers in the face of a growing threat
The main teaser is also unveiled at the same time, and quickly highlights the instability of these new powers. Eun Chae-ni, played by Park Eun-bin, appears in trouble, bleeding from the nose and blurting out «So I'm really going to die?». Known as a troublemaker, she finds herself endowed with a teleportation power as unpredictable as it is dangerous.
For their part, Kang Ro-bin and Son Gyeong-hun struggle to adapt to their new reality, while Lee Un-jeong, played by Cha Eun-woo, seems to have mastered his telekinetic abilities. Impressed, the others even start calling him «Master».
But beyond these sometimes light-hearted moments, the teaser sets up a darker plot. A voice evokes disappearances similar to those that occurred twenty years earlier, leaving an ominous threat hanging in the air. The appearance of Dr Ha Won-do, played by Son Hyun-joo, as well as a mysterious group, adds to the suspense surrounding what's really at stake.
The teaser concludes with Eun Chae-ni declaring: «It's not that I'm nothing... it's just that I haven't done anything yet», heralding a major character evolution in the face of approaching danger.
A mix of humor, action and mystery, “The WONDERfools” promises a dynamic series driven by a team as unlikely as it is endearing.
The series will be available from May 15 in its entirety on Netflix.
