A few hours before its first broadcast, “The Legend of Kitchen Soldier”reveals new images focusing on Kang Sung-jae, the character played by Park Ji-hoon.
Adapted from a popular web novel and webtoon, the drama blends military comedy, fantasy and cooking. The story follows Kang Sung-jae, a young soldier assigned to the military kitchens after the appearance of a mysterious quest window that will gradually lead him to become a legendary cook.
An exemplary recruit... propelled into an unexpected situation
In the new images, Kang Sung-jae first appears as a particularly serious and motivated recruit. After receiving his enlistment order unexpectedly, he decides to take his military service very seriously.
Determined to become «a real man», he gives his all during training and even ends up leaving military camp with the title of best recruit.
But once transferred to the Gangrim outpost, things quickly take a stranger turn. As soon as he arrives in his unit, Kang Sung-jae immediately attracts the attention of his superiors. Staff Sergeant Park Jae-young, played by Yoon Kyung-ho, and Private Tak Moon-ik (Lim Ji-ho) discover a document designating him as an “S-class” soldier.
Visibly taken aback by this information, the 2 soldiers struggle to understand what this mysterious classification actually means. Kang Sung-jae himself seems totally lost in the situation, suggesting that this designation could be hiding something much more important.
The drama debuts this May 11 at 8:50pm (Korean time) and will be available on Viki.
