The drama “Doctor on the Edge”continues to build on its mix of romance and emotion with a new teaser focusing on the relationship between Do Ji-eui and Yook Ha-ri.
The series will follow Do Ji-eui, played by Lee Jae-wook, a public health doctor sent against his will to the remote island of Pyeondong, and Yook Ha-ri, played by Shin Ye-eun, a warm-hearted nurse who hides a secret.
A traumatized doctor who refuses to be tied down
The teaser begins with Do Ji-eui explaining that there are «3 things to avoid on an island: people, incidents... and love».
This sentence perfectly sums up the character's state of mind, still marked by a trauma linked to the sea and the islands. Several scenes show his chaotic daily life in Pyeondong and some painful memories of his past. But despite his determination to keep his distance, Yook Ha-ri gradually begins to break down his defenses.
Always smiling and attentive to others, she constantly seeks to help Do Ji-eui, even when he tries to push her away. At one point in the teaser, he coldly tells her, «I never asked you to help me, so don't cross the line.»
But Yook Ha-ri calmly replies, «I'm not overstepping my bounds. I just want to help you.»
The teaser hints at a romance that should build slowly, between emotional wounds, awkwardness and gradual rapprochement.
The series will begin airing on June 1 at 10pm (Korean time) on ENA and Disney+ (unconfirmed worldwide). This is actor Lee Jae-wook's penultimate drama before his departure for military service on May 18, 2026.
