The cast of the drama “Spellbound”continues to take shape with the confirmed arrival of Ong Seong-wu, who will co-star with Park Eun-bin and Yang Se-jong.
This project is a drama adaptation of the 2011 film “Spellbound”, revisited as an occult romance combining investigation and supernatural phenomena.
A new character to intensify relationships
The story follows Cheon Yeo-ri, the heiress of a large hotel group who can see ghosts, and Ma Gang-wook, a passionate and empathetic prosecutor. Together, they find themselves involved in a relationship as strange as it is unpredictable.
In this revisited version, Ong Seong-wu plays the role of Kang Min-hwan, a new character who didn't exist in the original film. Manager of the CL Raymond Hotel and heir to a powerful conglomerate, he possesses all the attributes of a successful businessman: intelligence, charisma and self-assurance.
But behind this cold image lies a warmer personality, particularly in his relationship with Cheon Yeo-ri. Her role should bring a new dynamic and heighten the tensions between the main characters.
The production stresses that this character will play a key role in the evolution of the plot, enriching relationships and introducing additional stakes.
Park Eun-bin will play the role of Cheon Yeo-ri, a brilliant executive with a weighty secret, while Yang Se-jong will lend his features to prosecutor Ma Gang-wook.
With this trio of actors and an approach that blends romance, mystery and the supernatural, “Spellbound” promises to be a drama to keep an eye on.
Broadcast is scheduled for the second half of 2026 on tvN.
