The drama “My Royal Nemesis”continues to reveal its quirky tone with a new teaser featuring a confrontation as unexpected as it is comical. Lim Ji-yeon and Heo Nam-joon.
In this romantic comedy, Lim Ji-yeon plays Shin Seo-ri, a struggling actress possessed by the spirit of a formidable Joseon-era antagonist, while Heo Nam-jun plays Cha Se-gye, a cold and ruthless heir.
An explosive teaser of romance and chaos
The video opens with a seemingly romantic scene, as Se-gye pulls Seo-ri towards him to shelter her in the middle of the road. But the moment quickly turns confrontational.
Seo-ri, convinced she's dealing with a dubious individual, slaps him without hesitation and attacks him verbally. For his part, Se-gye, true to his reputation as a man obsessed with money, tries to settle the situation by offering to pay... which only escalates the dispute.
The scene then takes a totally absurd turn: Seo-ri grabs a palm leaf and starts hitting him, while Se-gye retaliates with a bouquet of flowers, resulting in a real duel in the middle of the street.
Promising chemistry, says director
Director Han Tae-seop was particularly confident about the casting. He explains that Lim Ji-yeon was the obvious choice, thanks to her ability to embody a character that is at once determined, endearing and unpredictable.

He also highlights the performance of Heo Nam-joon, whose blend of charisma and comic flair creates a dynamic that is both tense and entertaining when facing Seo-ri.

As for Jang Seung-jo, who plays Choi Moon-do, the director highlights his ability to give depth to a complex character, at once disturbing and nuanced.

In his view, the drama's strength lies in the confrontation between these strong personalities, blending humor, romance and emotion.
The drama will air from May 8 at 9:50pm (Korean time) and will also be available on Netflix.
