The drama “The Legend of Kitchen Soldier”continues to unveil its characters with new images centered on Lee Sang-yi, an actor we love to see on screen, notably at the moment in “The Village Barber” or just recently in « Bloodhounds 2"
And one thing's for sure: given his role here, there's no doubt that he's going to make his mark again.
A demanding commander who shakes up military cuisine
In this military fantasy comedy, Park Ji-hoon plays Kang Sung-jae, a soldier whose life changes when a mysterious system appears before him, guiding him to an unexpected destiny as a legendary leader.
Opposite him, Lee Sang-yi makes a remarkable appearance as Hwang Seok-ho, a company commander with a very distinctive character. Behind his strict exterior lies a more sensitive and direct man, unable to conceal what he's thinking, even to the point of becoming awkward in his interactions.
But what really sets him apart is his exacting standards... especially when it comes to food.
Endowed with a particularly refined palate, Hwang Seok-ho becomes a real challenge for soldiers in the kitchen. Every meal becomes a high-voltage test, as his standards are so hard to pin down - even for professionals.
The new images illustrate this contrast perfectly. We discover him enjoying a carefully prepared coffee, far from the simpler habits of the army, revealing a pronounced taste for detail. His piercing gaze, as he inspects the soldiers' mess, foreshadows moments of tension... and perhaps a few surprises.
With such an atypical character, Lee Sang-yi should bring a unique touch to the balance between humor and pressure that characterizes the series.
“The Legend of Kitchen Soldier” will air from May 11 at 8:50pm (Korean time) and will be available on Viki.
