The drama “Family Matters”is preparing for its return with a season 2 that promises to be even more intense. The first images of the script reading have been revealed, confirming both the return of the main cast and the arrival of new faces.

This black comedy/thriller series follows an atypical family of supernaturally gifted individuals, forced to unite to survive in the face of a criminal organization.

A family returns to face an even more dangerous threat

In this new season, the family has settled in a new town, trying to conceal their past. But their respite is short-lived: they must now face a more powerful adversary, leading them on an even darker quest for vengeance.

The original cast is back, with Bae Doona, Baek Yoon-shik, Lomon and Lee Su-hyun, who reprise their roles in this unusual family. The character of Han Young-su, a mother with the ability to manipulate minds, should continue to play a central role, while the relationships between the members will evolve further.

More powerful antagonists and heightened tension

One of the major changes this season is the strengthening of the opposing camp. A number of actors have been added to the gallery of villains, including Park Ho-san, Jeon Hye-jin, Kang Ki-young, Baek Joo-hee, Shin Sung-min and Lee Joong-ok.

Unlike the first season, these enemies appear more organized and formidable, promising to intensify the pressure on the family and expand the scope of the story.

At the script reading, Bae Doona confided, “The new characters seemed much scarier,” while Baek Yoon-shik pointed out, “Just the fact that we're back together is already significant.” For their part, Lomon and Lee Su-hyun shared their excitement at the prospect of returning, and Park Byung-eun added: “I was impressed by the first season, so I have high expectations.”

The series is currently aiming for a release in the second half of the year.
