The Netflix series “The Wonderfools”continues to arouse curiosity with the unveiling of new visuals focusing on its main characters. Scheduled for release on May 15, this comedy-adventure blending superpowers and humor takes place in the late 1990s.
The story follows a group of misfits who, through a combination of circumstances, acquire supernatural abilities. Far from being classic heroes, they must unite to face threats and protect the world.
The eagerly-awaited project marks the reunion of Park Eun-bin and director Yoo In-shik, who are already well known for their previous collaborations.
Four unusual characters with unexpected powers
The recently unveiled images showcase 4 characters at the heart of the story. Park Eun-bin takes on the role of Eun Chae-ni, a young woman with an impulsive temperament who has been affected by heart disease since childhood. Known for her strong character, she inherits a teleportation power that she still struggles to control, foreshadowing situations as unpredictable as they are chaotic.
Facing her, Cha Eun-woo plays Lee Woon-jung, a discreet civil servant with a mysterious past. Gifted with telekinetic powers, he tries to lead a quiet life, hiding his abilities, until his destiny crosses that of the group.
Choi Dae-hoon plays Son Kyung-hoon, a regular administrative complainer who is surprised to find his hands suddenly “glued” to objects. A strange and unconventional power that could prove useful.
Finally, Im Seong-jae lends his features to Kang Robin, a seemingly shy and fragile character who develops impressive superhuman strength, in stark contrast to his personality.
Between uncontrollable powers, opposing personalities and unexpected situations, “The Wonderfools” promises an offbeat adventure driven by a group as unlikely as they are endearing. The series promises to be a mix of comedy, action and emotion, focusing on the adaptation to these sudden abilities and the bonds that form between the characters.
