Ryeoun has reportedly been cast as the male lead in the upcoming drama “The World of dating”.
According to the Korean media, the series will be adapted from a popular webtoon published on Naver, and will tell the story of Se-ul, a young woman who decides to give up any idea of a romantic relationship... only to have 3 men appear in her life whom she had never met before.
A return to romance for Ryeoun
The drama marks Ryeoun's return to a more romantic register after several darker and more intense projects.
The actor recently made a name for himself in the drama “Namib” alongside Go Hyun-jung, but also thanks to his role as Park Hoo-min in «Weak Hero Class 2» on Netflix.
Earlier this year, he also played a serial killer in the Disney+ drama “Bloody Flower” with Sung Dong-il and Geum Sae-rok, showing a much darker side to his acting.
About the female lead, Shin Se-kyung had been approached to play Se-ul. However, the actress eventually turned down the project on reflection, and is now set to return in another romance entitled “Love Virus”.
Female casting for “The World of dating” is still underway.
