A former poet broken by life

In the drama, Park Hae-joon embodies Hwang Jin-man, Dong-man's older brother. Once a poet, Jin-man suffered a profound failure that gradually led him to withdraw from the world. He now lives on the bangs of society, earning his living from manual labor such as welding and farming.

The images unveiled show a deeply solitary man. We see him sitting alone at the table, lost in thought, or resting in a cabbage patch under the sweltering sun after a day's work. These silent moments illustrate a routine of isolation, where alcohol and television are his only companions.

Two brothers and 2 ways of dealing with failure

Despite living under the same roof, the two brothers deal with their feelings of failure in very different ways. Dong-man tries to hide his inferiority complex and anxiety behind long, passionate tirades, while Jin-man remains locked in silence, unable to express his feelings.

The production team praised the actor's performance: «Park Hae-joon is an actor who completely transforms himself with each project, to the point where it's hard to recognize his true face. This time, he brings remarkable depth to the loneliness of his character, Hwang Jin-man. In particular, his chemistry with Koo Kyo-hwan, as they play two brothers who each deal differently with their feelings of worthlessness, has greatly enriched the quality of the project. We hope viewers will look forward to seeing the series.»

We Are All Trying Here will be broadcast for the first time April 18 and available internationally on Netflix.
