"Gold Land”continues to unveil its most striking characters, and Lee Kwang-soo is already shaping up to be one of the series' most disturbing faces.
In this thriller, expected on Disney+, the actor plays Director Park, a man desperate to recover missing gold bars.

An antagonist driven by obsession
“Gold Land” follows Hee-joo, an airport security guard who finds herself in possession of gold ingots linked to a smuggling ring. Greed and betrayal soon take hold of those around her.
At the heart of this hunt, Director Park emerges as a relentless force. Described as a speeding locomotive, he relentlessly pursues Hee-joo for the gold.
As the story unfolds, his behavior becomes increasingly brutal. His obsessive quest eventually transforms him into an uncontrollable menace, fueling a tense chase between fugitive and pursuer.
An intense physical transformation
The first images reveal a scarred character, with an inhabited gaze, visible scars and a deliberately imposing appearance, reinforced by accessories such as gold jewelry and tattoos.

Lee Kwang-soo explained: «The make-up was so extensive that I was almost unrecognizable. I wanted to show the ambition and greed of the character through his physical evolution over the course of events.» He added: «When I read the script, I was captivated by its pace and its many twists and turns. I immediately wanted to take part in the project.»
As director Kim Seong-hoon points out: «He's an unstoppable character once he gets going. Thanks to his physical presence and commitment, Lee Kwang-soo perfectly embodies this extreme threat.»
With this role radically different from his usual registers, the actor promises an intense performance in this thriller centered on temptation and the consequences of desire.
“Gold Land” will have 10 episodes and will debut on Disney+ on April 29, with 2 episodes broadcast each week.
