Kim Ji-won is about to take on a major new challenge with the Netflix series “Detective Park Mi-ok”inspired by an important real-life figure in Korean history. The news was confirmed in the Korean media on March 28.

In this 8-episode series, the actress plays Park Mi-ok, considered South Korea's first female detective. A woman who broke the barriers in a male-dominated field.

The role promises an intense performance, combining investigation, determination and personal struggle.

The project brings together a top-notch team. Kim Ji-won reunites with director Kim Hee-won, with whom she previously collaborated on the hit “Queen of Tears”.

The screenplay is by Jeong Seo-kyung, renowned for her landmark works such as “Decision to Leave” and “Little Women”, often focusing on strong female characters.
