ENA's next drama, “Doctor on the Edge”, begins to reveal itself with a first immersion into its universe. The production recently shared images of the script reading, offering a glimpse of the chemistry between the actors and the atmosphere that will carry this new medical romance.

The story follows Do Ji-eui, a public health physician played by Lee Jae-wook, sent to the isolated and feared island of Pyeondong. Marked by a sea-related trauma, he usually avoids islands, but finds himself forced to live there. The drama promises to explore in depth his inner evolution, from a closed and distant man to someone capable of opening up and transforming himself through contact with others.

A human romance with a promising cast
Facing him, Shin Ye-eun plays the role of Yook Ha-ri, a nurse whose character is both benevolent and curious. A former employee of a major university hospital, she returns to the island with a secret. Always ready to help others, she brings a strong emotional dimension to the story, between sincerity and complexity.

The cast also includes Hong Min-ki in the role of a brilliant doctor with a cold temperament, Lee Soo-kyung as a strong-willed local nurse, and Kim Yoon-woo, who plays a young doctor as immature as he is charismatic.

The production team describes the project as follows: «It's a story about people who meet on a remote island, heal each other's wounds and grow both as medical professionals and as individuals. The series will offer warm, energetic healing thanks to the chemistry of the young actors, blending heartfelt friendship and romance.»
With this first taste, “Doctor on the Edge” promises to be a touching and luminous drama centered on personal reconstruction and human bonds.
The series is due to start on June 1 on ENA (awaiting a broadcast platform).
