tvN prepares a new drama mixing action, comedy and bromance with “Retired Agent + Management Team”which will bring together Cha Seung-won and Kim Do-hoon in the lead roles.
The story follows 2 agents at very different points in their careers. On one side, a former spy now retired, on the other, a promising talent sidelined. Together, they must join forces to track down a hidden threat.
The project will be directed by Jin Chang-kyu, known for his work on “Military Prosecutor Doberman” and “Buried Hearts”.
Two opposing agents on the same mission
Cha Seung-won plays Kim Chul-soo, a retired elite agent of the National Intelligence Service. Now the owner of a simple neighborhood carwash, he leads a seemingly quiet life. Yet behind the routine, he retains an undiminished passion for his old profession.
Opposite him, Kim Do-hoon plays Go Yo-han, a brilliant agent considered a “super recruit”. Despite his outstanding performance, he finds himself relegated to a secondary unit in charge of managing retired agents. Frustrated by this situation, he is desperate to regain his place in the field.
From 2 different generations, the two men share a common goal: to prove their worth and seize a new opportunity. Their collaboration leads them to investigate a traitor linked to a criminal organization, resulting in an alliance as chaotic as it is effective.
The production team also stresses the importance of their dynamic, describing it as “a chemistry made up of arguments and raw teamwork”, which should bring an entertaining dimension to the drama.
“Retired Agent + Management Team” is due for release in the second half of the year.
