U+tv has lifted the veil on « Love Phobia » by sharing images from the very first reading of the script, giving a promising glimpse of the chemistry between Yeonwoo, Kim Hyun-jin and the rest of the cast. This new contemporary romance explores the fear of love in the age of emotions analyzed... by artificial intelligence.
Love Phobia follows the meeting of 2 people who are emotionally opposed, but whose destiny leads them to understand each other. A story where technology, intimate wounds and the need to love intertwine.
An AI novelist confronts a hyper-sensitive writer
Yeonwoo plays Yoon Bi-ah, CEO of an AI-based dating app, It's You. Cold, rational and emotionally distant on the surface, in reality she hides a great inner fragility. When she read the script, the actress quickly took on board the psychological nuances of her character, setting the tone of a woman who fears love as much as she analyzes it.
Opposite her, Kim Hyun-jin lends his features to Han Sun-ho, a romance novelist deeply connected to his emotions and driven by an assumed sensitivity. Able to move from intense determination to disarming gentleness, he summed up one of the drama's highlights by declaring, «It'll be fun to watch while trying to guess each character's past stories.»
Immediate chemistry and a solid cast
From the very first reading, the actors showed a natural synergy, praised by the production team. Jo Yun-seo, as Seol Jae-hee, Bi-ah's best friend and professional partner, brings a reliable, pragmatic energy to the ensemble. Choi Byung-chan, who plays Han Baek-ho, Sun-ho's twin brother and agency manager, brings a brighter, warmer touch.
Around them, a solid secondary cast (Lim Ji-eun, Lee Ji-hae, Kim Ki-nam, Han Gyu-min, Hwang Ha-jung and Kim So-ha) completes a universe where every relationship seems designed to enrich the story.
Directed by Wang Hye-ryeong and written by Lee Se-ryeong, Love Phobia promises a modern, introspective and emotionally nuanced romance, where the fear of love becomes the starting point for a real personal journey.
