MBC has just revealed the first images of Won Jin-ah in " The Judge Returns" the judicial thriller where the past, corruption and revenge intertwine. Adapted from a web novel, the series follows Lee Han-young (Ji Sung), a corrupt judge who mysteriously goes back 10 years to confront the powers he once served. But this time, another figure stands at his side: Kim Jin-ah, intrepid prosecutor played by Won Jin-ah.

A prosecutor ready to defy the authorities to find the truth
Kim Jin-ah works for the Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office. Far from being intimidated by power struggles, she's fiercely determined to find the man who threatened her father's life and obtain compensation, whatever the cost. Her quest leads her to form a unexpected alliance with Lee Han-young, an unstable partnership, guided as much by their thirst for justice as by conflicting personal goals.

The new images unveiled show Won Jin-ah's emotional range: a sharp gaze that commands respect, a surprised face when she receives a decisive call, then a sincere smile when she dons her prosecutor's badge. It all points to a passionate heroine, torn between righteousness and pain, whose involvement could profoundly influence the fate of the judge who has returned from the past.

A key performance in a story where justice and vengeance merge.
According to the production team, Won Jin-ah is fully committed to her first project with MBC: "Her enthusiasm is remarkable. We hope viewers will be captivated by the fresh charm she brings." They also point out that Kim Jin-ah will be one of the key drivers of the story, a figure capable of turning the tide of history through her choices and convictions.

With two characters walking a tightrope between justice and revenge, The Judge Returns promises to explore powerful human dilemmas, where every decision carries the weight of a conviction.
The drama will start on January 2, 2026 at 9:40 pm (KST) on MBC.
