The drama “We Are All Trying Here” continues to reveal itself with new images highlighting the complex relationship between the characters of Bae Jong-ok and Han Sun-hwa. Behind a perfect appearance, the mother-daughter duo hides a much deeper tension.

The series follows Hwang Dong-man, a struggling director who feels overwhelmed by the success of those closest to him. But beyond his journey, the drama also focuses on other characters, including this family relationship marked by appearances.

A perfect image in the public eye

Bae Jong-ok plays Oh Jung-hee, a national actress at the peak of her career. A perfectionist, she lives every moment as if she were constantly in the spotlight, imposing high standards on herself... but also on her daughter.

Han Sun-hwa plays Jang Mi-ran, also an actress. Despite her own career path, she is still perceived above all as «Oh Jung-hee's daughter», an image from which she seeks to emancipate herself.

The first images unveiled show an ideal duo in the eyes of the public. At an awards ceremony, Oh Jung-hee smiles brightly as she receives a trophy, while Jang Mi-ran applauds with pride. A scene that perfectly embodies the image of a harmonious relationship.

A much colder reality behind the scenes

But once the lights go down, the situation changes radically. Backstage, silence sets in and a palpable distance appears between the two women. Their relationship is marked by constant pressure to maintain a perfect image in front of the public, while suppressing their true emotions.

As the production team explains, «Oh Jung-hee and Jang Mi-ran are actresses who are constantly moving between the pressure to present a perfect image and their true personalities, which they have to hide.»

Another element reinforces the complexity of their relationship: they are not related by blood, but by a bond of mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. A dynamic that promises to add even more depth to their story.
