tvN has unveiled the very first teaser for its upcoming weekend drama, " Undercover Ms. Hong" The retro ambience and office humor already promise to make this one of the most eagerly awaited releases of January 2026.
A period comedy set in the offices of the 1990s
The story takes place in the late 1990s. Hong Geum-bo (played by Park Shin-hye) is a brilliant financial investigator in her thirties. After detecting suspicious movements of funds, she accepts a surprising mission: to impersonate a 20-year-old recruit in a brokerage firm.
The teaser opens with a striking narration: "In 1997, at the dawn of a new century, female employees were referred to simply as 'Mademoiselle', without their full names even being remembered." A sentence that immediately sets the social context of the time, when young women in the workplace were often reduced to a mere title.
The video then segues into Hong Geum-bo, unrecognizable with her sensible bob, impeccable uniform and slightly panicked look as she takes care of small everyday tasks: a perfect image of the "Miss Hong" of the time.
A dual identity that promises humor and tension
But behind this shy face, the teaser reveals the real Hong Geum-bo: a formidable investigator, well-versed in complex financial operations. This superimposition of identities foreshadows an infiltration full of twists and turns, where the contrast between the heroine's innocence and true expertise will be the drama's main attraction.
