tvN has just released the first official photos of Park Shin-hye in " Undercover Ms. Hong" her new weekend drama. And from the very first images, one thing is clear: the actress is ready to deliver one of the most striking transformations of her career.
An elite investigator desperate to infiltrate the system
Set in the late 1990s, Undercover Ms. Hong tells the story of Hong Geum-boa senior investigator at the Financial Supervisory Service. At 35, she is the first female supervisor of the Capital Market Supervision Office, a feared pioneer nicknamed "the Witch of Yeouido" for her precision and exacting standards.
But when she discovers suspicious movements of funds, she accepts a risky mission:
posing as a 20-year-old entry-level employeea high school graduate, in a brokerage firm.
An infiltration that requires him to temporarily renounce everything that constitutes his identity: "Hong Geum-bo lowers his age, his education and his pride to accomplish his mission", reveals the production.
Park Shin-hye: an impressive double transformation
The published photos show 2 radically opposed faces of the character. On the one hand, the elite Geum-bo, long hair perfectly straightened, calm gaze and cold smile that instantly freezes the room; a woman who has built her career on skill and mastery.
On the other, Hong Jang-miGeum-bo's "Miss Hong" is the fictional identity she adopts: short haircut, simple uniforms, clumsy steps and the luminous energy of a young recruit ready to learn. A totally different "Miss Hong", carried along by a warmth and innocence that Geum-bo never displays in her real role.
These contrasts, in style, attitude and even micro-expressions, highlight Park Shin-hye's ability to inhabit 2 characters who have nothing in common, yet coexist at the heart of the same woman.
As Geum-bo navigates these two identities to foil a complex case, the series promises office humor, tension, financial stakes and a social critique of an era when women in business often had to fight twice as hard for recognition.
Undercover Ms. Hong will begin broadcasting on January 17, 2026no international distributor yet.
