An explosive cast, a mythology inspired by the Eastern zodiac and a threat that resurfaces after millennia... TwelveDisney+'s new fantasy action-drama promises a cocktail as intense as it is moving. The series, which opens on August 23has just unveiled some captivating new images highlighting the impressive chemistry of its characters.

In Twelve, 12 angels symbolizing the 12 animals of the zodiac live on Earth in human form to protect the Korean peninsula from the forces of evil.. Long ago, they had sealed the demonic spirits in the gates of hell at great sacrifice. But now, evil is awakening... and the balance is shifting.

Eight of these angels, Tae San (Ma Dong-seok), Won Seung (Seo In-guk), Mir (Lee Joo-bin), Do Ni (Go Kyu-pil), Gang Ji (Kang Mina), Jwi Dol (Sung Yoo-bin), Mal Sook (Ahn Ji-hye) and Bang Wool (Regina Lei) are still active among humans. Although they live apart, their bond is so deep that a simple glance is enough to communicate. And in the face of resurgent chaos, their unity proves stronger than ever.

The character ofOgui, played by Park Hyung-sik, marks the return of danger: this once-sealed evil being seems ready to break the chains of hell. The angels, deprived of their powers, have only their determination and cohesion to face the threat.

The images unveiled reinforce the dramatic intensity of the story. Between determined looks, serious discussions and a striking scene where Tae San brandishes a hammer in front of his comrades, Twelve promises to be a powerful, witty and very human drama.

Off-camera, the atmosphere seems just as fusional. Seo In-guk confides, "We bonded very quickly, there was a real good mood on the set." Lee Joo-bin adds: "Everyone's energy and kindness made for a very warm experience." And Kang Mina concludes: "We had to embody a family of angels united for millennia. The bond between us became real."

Between ancient myths and contemporary issues, Twelve could well become one of the most striking dramas of this late summer.
