The drama " The First Lady" coming soon on MBN, promises to be one of the most exciting political thrillers of the fall season. A few weeks ahead of its launch, a teaser-poster has been unveiled, revealing tensions, ambitions and betrayals at the highest levels of government.
The story starts with a bang: Hyun Min-chul (performed by Ji Hyun-woo), just elected President of the Republic, asks his wife for a divorce Cha Soo-yeon (played by Eugene)... 67 days before his investiture. A decision as brutal as it was unexpected, especially as Cha Soo Yeon, a true political strategist, is finally about to achieve the status of First Lady, the culmination of a faultless career.
On the poster, Cha Soo-yeon appears resplendent in a sparkling red gown, glass of champagne in hand, playing the perfect role of presidential wife at a glamorous reception. But her smile conceals a dull anxiety: just as she's finally putting her finger on her dream, it's all about to slip away.

At his side, Hyun Min-chul displays an icy presence. The couple seem united on the outside, but a glance at each other betrays the coldness that has settled in between them. And in the foreground, Shin Hae-rin (played by Lee Min-young), the president's devoted secretary, seems to observe the scene with a disturbing intensity, ready to do anything to protect her superior... or upset the balance.
The sentence on the poster sets the tone:
"Just when I should have been the happiest, the greatest misfortune fell upon me."
According to the production team, "The teaser showcases the subtle tensions between power, love and betrayal that will shape the destinies of these three characters. The looks speak volumes about the inner conflicts to come."
The first episode of The First Lady will be broadcast on September 24 at 10:20pm (KST) on MBN. The drama promises a breathtaking dive into the corridors of power... and broken hearts.
