A manager on the verge of exhaustion

The story follows Kim Nak-soo (Ryu Seung-ryong), a middle-aged corporate executive who thought he'd built a solid life: a house in Seoul, a career with a major corporation and the respect of society. But behind this image of success lies a man who wavers under constant pressure, oscillating between mountains of files in the office and hard work on industrial sites.

The posters perfectly convey this duality: they show Kim Nak-soo sweating under the weight of physical burdens, but also a man who, despite exhaustion, continues to smile, as if to protect the image of an ideal life.

Between illusion and the quest for self

The Dream Life of Mr. Kim explores the contrast between apparent social success and a man's inner fragility who ends up asking himself what is really valuable. Beyond the dedicated manager, this is the story of an individual seeking to rediscover his true self, far from the titles and expectations that crush him.
