"The Defects": Yeom Jung-ah, Dex and Won Jin-ah caught in a chilling chase

ENA's new thriller, which opens on July 21, tackles the subject of adoption can turn into a nightmare. Adapted from a successful webtoon, the series lifts the veil on a network of illegal adoptions and the broken destinies of those abandoned a second time. Between survival, revenge and ruthless pursuit, The Defects promises a high-voltage face-off between victim and executioner, led by Yeom Jung-ah, Dex and Won Jin-ah.

The story highlights the tragic fate of children abandoned by their adoptive parents, who will do anything to survive... and take revenge. At the heart of this clandestine network, Kim Se-hee (Yeom Jung-ah) reigns as the true orchestra conductor of a system where innocent lives are traded like commodities. But everything changes when Kim Ah-hyun (Won Jin-ah), a young woman returned to her tormentors after a failed adoption, resurfaces. Against all odds, she has survived where no one would have staked a penny.

The first teaser plunges us into a suffocating atmosphere: an empty carriage in an icy setting, accompanied by a chilling slogan, "I want to give a child back". This sentence alone sums up the drama unfolding. The tension is ratcheted up a notch when Dex, aka Kim Jin-young, appears in the role of Jung Hyun, a veritable human weapon fashioned by Se Hee to protect his secrets.

In this manhunt where prey and predator constantly swap roles, the confrontations promise to be explosive. Between the cries of distress, the relentless chases and the blood-curdling lines, such as Se Hee's terrible warning: "You should never have come back", every second foreshadows a relentless series.
