An unexpected cast, an almost liturgical atmosphere and a veil of total mystery: the new video project from director Shin Woo-seok is already the talk of the town. On December 10, production company Dolphin Kidnappers unveiled a first teaser on YouTube entitled "Shin Woo-seok's City Fairy Tale EP.1: The Christmas Songfeaturing an impressive cast: Byeon Woo-seok, Karina aespa, Jang Won-young CVI, Park Hee-soonand Moon So-ri.
A sacred atmosphere... before a sudden shift
The 51-second video opens in a small, silent chapel where Park Hee-soon, Byeon Woo-seok, Karina and Jang Won-youngall dressed in religious vestments, pray in a hushed atmosphere.
This serenity is brutally shattered in the next scene: Karina and Jang Won-young appear in tears, while Byeon Woo-seok solemnly advances down the central aisle carrying Park Hee-soon's memorial portrait. The image is powerful, almost ritualistic, and contrasts with the initial calm.
After the credits, a short, retro-style clip reveals Moon So-rilike an archival fragment from another time. This last appearance adds a new level of intrigue, hinting at a larger story... or a campaign based on the aesthetics of the modern tale.
An advertising project that looks like a film
Although the teaser gives no clear indication of the story, interest continues to grow.
The project is actually linked to a new advertising campaign for Google GeminiWith a cast worthy of a blockbuster, a dramatic atmosphere and meticulous direction, this advert is like a mini-movie.
This first episode, The Christmas Songsets a darkly poetic scene that titillates the imagination. Fans are now waiting to see whether the sequel will continue this mysterious tone or finally reveal the true nature of the project.
