Tempest: Lee Mi-sook, Park Hae-joon, Yoo Jae-myung and Oh Jung-se embody the power figures who will shake Korea to its core

Disney+ has unveiled new images of the characters from Tempest, a political thriller with a five-star cast.

The story follows Moon Ju (Jun Ji-hyun), an internationally renowned diplomat and former ambassador to the United States. Alongside San Ho (Kang Dong-won), a special agent with a mysterious nationality, she finds herself confronted with a truth that threatens the Korean peninsula.

The (not so) secondary roles

  • Lee Mi-sook (seen in Queen of Tears) plays Im Ok-seon, president of Korea's largest shipping and logistics group. A woman of influence in political and business circles, her ambition knows no bounds: to make her son president. But in the face of unforeseen circumstances, she changes allies and decides to propel Moon Ju to the presidency, whatever the means.

  • Park Hae-joon (seen in When life gives you tangerine and Love, take two) plays presidential candidate Jang Jun-ik. A young politician from the New Republican Party, he advocates peace and harmony, warmly shaking hands with elders and singing with children at his public meetings.
  • Yoo Jae-myung plays Yoo Woo-hak, director of the NIS (National Intelligence Service). A formidable strategist, he keeps a constant grip on military tensions and has no qualms about turning a patriot into a spy if it serves the nation.
  • Oh Jung-se slips into the shoes of Jang Jun-sang, a renowned prosecutor and winner of the title of Prosecutor of the Year. But behind this façade of success, he hides a deep-seated jealousy of his older brother, Jun Ik, with whom he's had a rivalry since childhood.

Broadcast

Tempest will release its first 3 episodes on September 10then 2 episodes each week, for a total of 9, exclusively on Disney+ (not yet confirmed in France).
