The new season promises to be a thrilling one on Disney+ with Tempesta high-flying political thriller with 2 renowned stars : Jun Ji-hyun and Kang Dong-won. Scheduled for September 10This ambitious drama blends international conspiracy, espionage and geopolitical tensions against the backdrop of the Korean crisis.
A UN ambassador confronted with an explosive truth
At the heart of the plot are Moon Juplayed by Jun Ji-hyun. A respected figure in world diplomacy, she is a UN ambassador who finds herself unwillingly caught up in an affair of state: the failed assassination attempt on a South Korean presidential candidate. Convinced that a wider plot lies behind this act, she decides to conduct her own investigation. A quest for the truth that will lead her to confront secrets far greater than she ever imagined, to the point of jeopardizing the balance of power on the Korean peninsula.
In the first images unveiled, Jun Ji-hyun embodies a woman who is calm, strong and determined. Whether delivering a solemn speech or running at dawn through the empty streets of Seoul, Moon Ju displays a remarkable inner strength. The actress confides that she found the role an exciting challenge: to portray a resilient heroine who acts in the shadows with a will of steel.
San Ho, the enigmatic guardian angel with tough methods
At his side, Kang Dong-won interpreter Baek San-hoa security agent as mysterious as he is effective. A member of an international mercenary organization, he is a former professional of VIP protection units, having worked in the world's most dangerous war zones. His meeting with Moon Ju is purely coincidental, during the bombing. But moved by the situation, he decides to stand by her side and protect her against all odds.
The recently released images reveal several facets of the character: silent and intense at a bus stop, focused with gun in hand, or tense in the face of an imminent threat. Director Kim Hee Won praises Kang Dong Won's performance, underlining "the power of his acting in the action scenes, but also his ability to express inner strength with restraint".
The expected alchemy, a new format
The 2 main actors share a beautiful complicity on screen. Jun Ji-hyun said she felt "a mixture of excitement and positive tension" during filming with Kang Dong-won. Their duet, between fragile trust and dramatic tension, promises to captivate viewers.
On the broadcast side, Tempest adopts an original format: 3 episodes will be available from September 10followed by 2 episodes per week from September 17for a total of 9 episodes.
