Autumn promises to be a busy time for fans of historical and human dramas. With Typhoon Family, tvN plunges us into the heart of a troubled era, that of the 1997 financial crisisthrough the story of a young man determined not to go under. On screen, it's Lee Junho (2PM) who plays this character, and the first images promise a powerful role, imbued with rage and resilience.
Kang Ta-poong, a young entrepreneur facing chaos
In Typhoon Family, Lee Junho lends his features to Kang Tae-poongA young man with no experience, propelled overnight to the head of a trading company... in total ruin. No employees. No funds. Not even a product to sell. Just an era in decline, and a man determined to make it happen. don't fall in with her.
The drama is set against the backdrop of the post-IMF period, when South Korea was reeling under the effects of the crisis. In the newly unveiled poster, we see Kang Tae-poong sitting in a messy office, amidst newspapers announcing the country's bankruptcy, but with a wry smile and a fighting gleam in his eyes. The slogan snaps like a declaration: "It wasn't me who fell, it was the times."

Immersive atmosphere for an everyday hero
The teaser video reinforces this tension. Newspapers pile up on the floor, TV channels loop in alarming economic news... and in the midst of all this tumult, Kang Tae-poong stands upWith his fists clenched and a crumpled newspaper firmly in his hand, he's ready to fight.
This character does not represent a classic hero, but rather a symbol of ordinary youth, forced to mature in the midst of an economic storm. The production also stresses its desire to remind us, through him, the silent courage of an entire generationwho has lived through these times without ever giving up.
An outstanding role for Lee Junho
After acclaimed roles in The Red Sleeve and King the Land, Lee Junho seems to be exploring a new facet of his acting here. Gone is the glamour, replaced by the harshness of real life, sweat and difficult choices. A role in which emotion is born not of love or family drama, but of the will to survive when all else collapses.
Scheduled to air on October 11 at 9:20 pm (KST) on tvN, Typhoon Family promises to be a poignant, socially engaged and humanly moving drama.
