The new drama series Our Golden Days arrives in cinemas on August 9: each person lives his or her own golden era, a time when past, present and future meet. This generational drama looks at personal and family struggles, highlighting thought-provoking life moments and emotional repercussions. A new trailer has just dropped, promising a touching exploration of the challenges every member of a family can face.
Synopsis
The story follows Lee Ji-hyuk (played by Jung Il-woo), the eldest of a family who suddenly finds himself unemployed. After resigning voluntarily, Ji Hyuk finds himself having to do manual labor, while his younger brother, Lee Ji-wan (Son Sang-yeon), is laid off, and their younger sister, Lee Soo Bin (Shin Soo-hyun), faces near-unemployment. Their father, Lee Sang-chul (Chun Ho-jin), has just retired, and everyone is trying to find a way to live in this difficult environment. A striking moment in the teaser shows Ji Hyuk, his eyes heavy with despair, standing on a bridge, muttering "I don't want to live like this". A moment of introspection that augurs moments of intense tension and struggle to come.
But the story doesn't stop there. Another essential aspect of the series focuses on the family of Ji Eun-oh (Jung In-sun), an optimistic and cheerful woman despite the difficulties. Since her family went through financial hardship, Eun Oh has become the main breadwinner, juggling several jobs: café manager, head of an interior design company, and store assistant to her mother, Jung Soon Hee (Kim Jung-young).

While her life may seem like a whirlwind of work, Eun Oh never loses sight of her dream to be an interior designer. However, her efforts are put to the test by her brother Ji Kang Oh (Yang Hyuk), a troubled and awkward young man who seeks to exploit his sister for his own ends, putting the family in an awkward position.

The scenes in the series highlight a family marked by deep conflict. Jung Soon Hee, the mother, finds herself caught between her unconditional love for her troubled son and her unwavering support for her daughter. She finds herself at a crossroads when a major incident forces her to choose between the two children, exposing the reality of family tensions.
Our Golden Days to be broadcast from August 9 at 8 p.m. (KST) on KBS, promises to captivate viewers with emotionally rich family dynamics. Between love and conflict, reconciliation and pain, this drama sheds light on the reality of the family, through the personal struggles and difficult choices of its members.
