Netflix has unveiled first images of his next ambitious drama « Tantara« presented at the event Next on Netflix 2026 Korea. The series immerses viewers in the Korean entertainment industry from the 1960s to the 1980s, an era marked by excess, fierce competition and dreams of glory often built on extreme sacrifice.

At the heart of the story are Min Ja and Dong Gu, two childhood friends played by Song Hye-kyo and Gong Yoo. Coming from modest backgrounds, they have almost nothing, except a burning ambition. Together (and sometimes against each other), they stake everything on a future of success and recognition in a world as fascinating as it is cruel.
Intertwined destinies supported by a prestigious cast
Tantara is written by Noh Hee-kyung, to whom we owe Our Blues and Dear My Friendsand produced by Lee Yoon-jung, known for Coffee Prince and Cheese in the Trap. An association that heralds a deeply human story, centered on emotions, disillusionment and the bonds that resist (or break) in the face of ambition.
Song Hye-kyo plays Min Ja, while Gong Yoo metamorphoses into Dong Gu, his childhood friend, in a role that marks a notable transformation.

Around them gravitates a gallery of strong characters: Seolhyun plays Min Hui, bound to Min Ja by a relationship as intense as it is conflicted; Cha Seung-won appears as Gil Yeo, a legendary composer of his time; and Lee Ha Nee plays Yang Ja, Min Hui's mother, herself an aspiring singer.

At the presentation, a Netflix official emphasized the scope of the project: «You'll discover a captivating story set in the entertainment industry from the 1960s to the 1980s. Song Hye-kyo and Gong Yoo, whose names alone thrill audiences, come together with a power to match the title. Alongside them, Seolhyun, Cha Seung-won and Lee Ha-nee embody the full depth of human desire, emotion and experience.»
Between friendship, rivalry, love and the quest for recognition, Tantara promises to be an intense fresco on the price of success and the dreams we pursue at all costs.
