Japanese romantic drama « Soul Mate »is finally ready to meet the public. January 27th, Netflix has unveiled its 2026 programming for Japan, officially confirming the broadcast of this highly anticipated series starring Taecyeon and Isomura Hayato.

Written and directed by Hashizume Shunki, the series is distinguished by its narrative and emotional ambition, with a love story that spans ten years and traverses three major cities: Berlin, Seoul and Tokyo.
A meeting that turns two destinies upside down
Soul Mate tells the story of 2 men deeply scarred by their past. Isomura Hayato plays Ryu Narutaki, a man who has left everything behind in Japan and is trying to rebuild his life far from his roots. Opposite him, Taecyeon plays Johan Hwang, a boxer unable to close his emotional wounds.
Their destiny changes during a chance encounter in a church abroad, when Johan saves Ryu's life. This pivotal moment becomes the starting point for an intense bond, both fragile and transformative. Over the years and on their travels, the 2 men learn together to face their fears, their regrets and their conception of love.
An intimate international project
With its international settings and sensitive approach, Soul Mate promises an introspective tale of time, healing and human relationships. The teaser unveiled by Netflix hints at a melancholy, elegant atmosphere, centered on silences, glances and held-back emotions.
The drama will be available May 14, 2026, exclusively on Netflix. A date to remember for fans of deep romances and intimate stories.
