The new drama "I DOL I"expected at the end of the year, begins to reveal itself with a first poster and a teaser video which herald a courtroom romance full of tension, mystery and contrasting emotions. Sooyoung plays Maeng Se-na, a brilliant and renowned lawyer... but also a devoted fan of the singer Do Ra-ik, played by Kim Jae-yeong. Everything changes when she finds herself having to defend her own bias, accused of a crime he firmly denies.

An elite lawyer confronts her ultimate bias

Maeng Se-na is known in the legal world as a rising star: she takes on cases that others shy away from, and consistently wins. Yet behind her impeccable seriousness lies an absolute fan of the band Gold Boys, and more precisely of its lead singer Do Ra-ik, whom she has supported for eleven years.

The official poster plays on this contrast, showing a huge billboard of Do Ra-ik, once radiant, now marked by ominous red streaks. Se-na, standing in front of this tarnished image, holds a post-it note recalling his long loyalty as a fan. One sentence sums up the plot to come: "My bias with the fatal smile becomes a murder suspect."

A first teaser mixing humor, shock and suspense

In the teaser, audiences discover a Se-na who goes from impassive lawyer to overexcited fangirl as soon as she leaves the office. But there's nothing glamorous about her dream meeting with her idol: instead of running into each other backstage or at a fanmeeting, she meets up with Do Ra-ik in a legal consulting room.

Accused of murder, the singer breaks down as he proclaims his innocence. On these images, Se-na's voice echoes: "I never imagined that we would meet as lawyer and suspect." A sentence that heralds a relationship that is at once unprecedented, fragile and full of dilemmas.

The drama promises to follow Se-na torn between her fan admiration and the complexity of the case, while exploring an unexpected bond that builds under the pressure of a terrifying accusation.

"I DOL I" will debut on December 22 at 10pm KST (awaiting an international broadcaster). Fans of mystery, romance and K-pop drama vibes, mark the date: this series could well be one of the end-of-year revelations.
