September promises to be an exciting month for Kdramas fans! JTBC is preparing to launch My Youtha romantic melodrama starring two leading ladies: Song Joong-ki and Chun Woo-hee. This new series promises to turn hearts upside down, mixing teenage memories, wounds from the past and unexpected reunions.

A sweet and luminous first love story

My Youth plunges us into the youth of Sunwoo Hae (played in his teens by Nam Da-reum), a former child star forced to sacrifice his carefree ways to support himself. By his side, Sung Je-yeon (played by a young Jeon So-young), lives under the yoke of a rigid daily routine, where the word "freedom" seems outlawed. In this stifling setting, their meeting is a kind of escape. Their budding love becomes a refuge, an enchanted interlude in a life too serious, too soon.

The unveiled images show these 2 teenagers in uniform, sitting next to each other, complicit and moved. In another scene, Sunwoo Hae shyly offers Je Yeon a bouquet by the sea, a simple but sincere gesture. The young girl's dazzling smile leaves no doubt: their feelings are mutual.

A reunion marked by surprise and melancholy

But the years went by, and when Sunwoo Hae and Sung Je Yeon meet again as adults, it's no longer the same gaze that rests on each other. Surprise dominates, almost mingled with unease. Time has taken its toll, carving out silences and sowing regrets.

Yet, as the night scenes unfold, the intensity of their glances increases. Behind their eyes lies a tumult of emotions: nostalgia, hesitation, buried memories that resurface in spite of themselves. It is from this bittersweet tension that My Youth seems to draw its emotional strength.

A clear chemistry between the actors

When asked about his character, Song Joong-ki confides that for Sunwoo Hae, Sung Je-yeon is much more than a childhood sweetheart: she represents the one who reached out to him when he was hiding from the world. She helped him reconnect with life. As for their collaboration, the actor is enthusiastic: "Working with Chun Woo Hee was a fluid experience. We exchanged a lot, which strengthened our complicity on screen."

For her part, Chun Woo-hee describes their fictional relationship as a memory box When you open it, everything comes back as if it were yesterday. She also shares the pleasure she had shooting with Song Joong-ki: "From the start, there was a real ease between us. We took the time to explore the script together, in a caring atmosphere."

An appointment not to be missed

Designed for broadcast from September 5 at 8:50pm (KST), "My Youth is shaping up to be a must-see for the fall season. The drama will be available with subtitles on Viki (confirmed today in France)to the delight of international fans.
