September promises to be an exciting month for fans of Korean romance. JTBC has unveiled a series of character posters for its upcoming drama My Youth (My youth on Viki in France), brought to you by Song Joong-ki, Chun Woo-hee, Lee Joo-myung and Seo Ji-hoon. Each visual plunges into the intimacy of the protagonists and their singular relationship with that first love which, despite the years, never fades.
Luminous memories in the midst of fractures
Song Joong Ki embodies Sunwoo-haea former child star who burned through his best years too quickly. Today, he tries to lead an ordinary life, but remains marked by the scars of his past. What helped him stand on his own two feet? Sung Je-yeon (Chun Woo-hee), whom he met when he was 19. In his poster, he appears melancholy, surrounded by flowers, with poignant phrases reminding us how much this love enabled him to move forward despite the pain. It reads: "Sometimes, light comes through a broken crack. One day, it might find its way. Most of the reasons that kept me going were you."

On his side, Je Yeon flashes a nostalgic smile. As a studious teenager, trapped by family expectations and exams, she didn't have the luxury of dreaming. Yet her fondest memories remain those stolen moments with Sunwoo Hae, "lost" moments she still cherishes, like a parenthesis she'd like to prolong. Her poster reads: "After I met you, I wanted to talk about the things I never accomplished. To be exact, it was all a waste. What I really wanted was to waste time with you."

Multiple and complex first loves
Through their posters, Mo Tae-rin (Lee Joo-myung) and Kim Seok-joo (Seo Ji-hoon) also reveal their troubled youth. Tae Rin, lonely despite the affection she received, found refuge in Seok Joo's comforting voice, heard through the school loudspeakers. Soap bubbles floating in the sky symbolize this fragile innocence and the nascent emotions she still holds in her memory.
On her poster is written: "Maybe I couldn't say what I really wanted to, because each encounter came too suddenly. There were moments when your voice comforted me. I wanted to say thank you. But why do you keep getting on my nerves!"

As for Seok Joo, his routine life is turned upside down by the arrival of Tae Rin. Whereas he had been carefully hiding his feelings, she dares to laugh, cry and express her indignation without a filter. At her side, he discovers unsuspected emotions, and perhaps the possibility of staying "young" for longer, as long as they're together. Her poster reads, "The part of me I once ignored finally feels soothed, and maybe it's okay if we never stop being teenagers, as long as we're face to face."

A universal tale of youth and love
Through these portraits, My Youth promises an emotional fresco of early emotions, regrets and the power of memories to shape the adults we become.
The drama will start on September 5 at 20:50 KST on JTBC. and will be available with subtitles on Viki.
