As the release of " Pro Bono" , So Joo-yeon reveals how she shaped Park Ki-bbeum, an engaging and luminous character in this courtroom drama of chaos, humor and ideals. Led by Jeong Kyeong-ho in the role of a materialistic judge forced to join the pro bono team of a major law firm, the series also showcases this enthusiastic young lawyer, who sees justice as a field of passion as much as conviction.

A sincere personality born of insatiable curiosity

Park Ki-bbeum didn't become a lawyer through tradition or social ambition: she grew up as a jack-of-all-trades fangirl, with a passion for novels, musicals, manga and animation. It was a chance university course that awakened an unexpected interest in constitutional law, turning her into a true "legal addict".

So Joo-yeon explains that this dimension immediately appealed to her: "The drama explores things that only humans can do, things that are irreplaceable. That's what attracted me so deeply." For her, Park Ki-bbeum's main charm lies in her unwavering sincerity, a quality she wanted to convey as authentically as possible.

As for the character's style, the actress shares that she carefully worked out the outfits so that Ki-bbeum would blend in with the team while expressing her sparkling energy: small touches of color to reflect her lively side, but always integrated into a demanding legal environment.

A natural empathy that feeds the role

Asked what she shares with Park Ki-bbeum, So Joo-yeon answers without hesitation: empathy. "I'm INFP, I cry very easily. Playing Ki-bbeum, there were so many scenes where I had to hold back my tears at the characters' stories." This sensitivity enabled her to fully immerse herself in the emotions of the role, making Ki-bbeum even more human.

She adds that audiences can expect real chemistry within the pro bono team, as well as rich interactions with the characters they meet on each case. And, on a fun note, she promises that Jeong Kyeong-ho's improvisations will be one of the drama's great sources of laughter.

Pro Bono will be broadcast from December 6 at 9:10pm (KST) on tvN and Netflix worldwide.
