After a remarkable return to the world of action with Mercy for None on Netflix, So Ji-sub is reportedly in talks for a new role in a particularly intense drama. According to recent reports, the South Korean actor is in talks to play the lead role in Manager Kima dark action thriller inspired by a successful webtoon.
A new role in "Manager Kim"?
So Ji-sub's character, Kim, is an ordinary family man who, after the sudden disappearance of his daughter, reveals his past as a special agent and embarks on a risky mission to save her.
His last performance in the genre was Mercy for None, released in June 2025, which was a worldwide success, propelling So Ji-sub back into the spotlight with rave reviews. Manager Kim promises to be a slightly different experience, blending intense emotions with hard-hitting action scenes.
Although the offer was made to the actor, his agency, 51k, said So Ji-sub was still studying the proposal before making a final decision. Fans are eager to see whether this project will mark the next step in the actor's career, following his acclaimed return to the world of action.
