The new season of Korean dramas promises to be full of surprises. tvN is no exception to the rule with its intriguing new project entitled Shin's Project. Carried by the talented Han Seok-GyuThe series promises a clever mix of comedy, mystery and social justice. The drama will debut September 15 and is already shaping up to be one of the curiosities of the season.
A neighbourhood hero... not so ordinary
In Shin's Project, Han Seok-Gyu embodies Mr. Shina former legendary negotiator, now the humble owner of a small fried chicken restaurant tucked away in a quiet alley. But behind this simple façade lies a much more complex man: a modern-day vigilantewho invites himself into the conflicts of others to sow peace... in his own way.
Visit recently unveiled trailer sets the tone. We discover Mr. Shin, concentrating on his crispy chicken legs, unperturbed despite the urgent calls from his young employee. Jo Philipperformed by Bae Hyeon-seong. As he calmly replies "Why? I'm busy", the words "The Chicken Master" appear on the screen, underlining his culinary as well as symbolic talents.

But very quickly, the tone changes. Behind his slow gestures and deadpan humor, Mr. Shin reveals an agile, provocative and elusive mind. Faced with Jo Philip's (now a rookie lawyer) remarks about his traffic violations, Shin laughs, tears up an official document, and mimes a hush mischievous. This daring lightness has earned him another nickname: "The Master of Shortcuts".
And then, without warning, the former negotiator is back in action. Calls for help, complex situations, explosive conflicts: Mr. Shin intervenes, defuses, and concludes each negotiation with panacheA fascinating double life that leaves no one indifferent... especially Jo Philip, who becomes increasingly intrigued.
