tvN is preparing an intriguing and unexpected drama for the new season: Shin's Project. Starring Han Seok-Gyu, this new title blends comedy, mystery and emotion around a dual character who is both a chicken restorer and a former genius negotiator. The series will debut on September 15 (awaiting international distributor) and is already raising expectations thanks to its first images and the confidences of its lead actor.

Han Suk Kyu, between lightness and firmness

In Shin's ProjectHan Suk Kyu plays Mr. Shin, a legendary former negotiator who has hung up his sword to run a small chicken restaurant. But behind his seemingly simple, relaxed smile lies a man inhabited by a mysterious past and always ready to defend the weakest.

The actor explained that he wanted to highlight his character's duality: "At first glance, Mr. Shin is cheerful and easygoing, but when it comes to action, he becomes surprisingly firm and sharp." A role that contrasts with his previous, often serious characters, as he adds a touch of playfulness and mischiefwhile retaining an inner depth.

To illustrate this complexity, Han Suk Kyu came up with a tasty metaphor: "Mr. Shin is like a chicken that's half plain, half sauce. On the outside, he looks simple and light, but on the inside, he has a deeper richness of flavor."

A rookie lost to an out-of-step team

The recently unveiled trailer adds a refreshingly comic dimension to the story. It introduces Jo Philip (Bae Hyeon-seong), a young judge of integrity who finds himself working in Mr. Shin's restaurant. Dressed in his impeccable suit, he's a complete contrast to the relaxed atmosphere of the establishment... until Mr. Shin entrusts him with a chicken delivery.

Disoriented and clumsy, Jo Philip struggles to keep pace, especially facing Lee Si-on (Lee Re), a resourceful, self-assured delivery girl, who doesn't hesitate to push him to take things in hand. This contrast promises scenes that are both funny and touching, where the rookie has to adapt to a world that is totally beyond him.

With its blend of comedy, human drama and mystery, Shin's Project promises to be an atypical series that will appeal to a wide audience. Between the fascinating duality of Mr. Shin and the endearing awkwardness of Jo Philip, the drama promises as many laughs as emotional moments. Watch tvN on September 15 to find out if Shin's Project will become one of the big surprises of the new season.
