JTBC has unveiled new images from its upcoming Friday drama, « Shining« highlighting the emotional transformation of the character played by Park Jinyoung. Scheduled for broadcast from March 6, Shining promises to be a sensitive drama about youth, the passage of time and feelings that persist despite the years.

A man rooted in the present, a prisoner of the past
In Shining, Park Jinyoung plays Yeon Tae-seo, a subway driver with a realistic temperament. More attached to stability than to abstract dreams, he leads a life regulated to the millimeter, repeating the same gestures at the same time every day. For him, responsibility and consistency take precedence over emotion.
Yet behind this apparent mastery lies a wound that has never healed: Tae Seo has never been able to forget Mo Eun-ah, the first love he met when he was 19, played by Kim Min-ju. A luminous memory that continues to silently influence his present.

Two ages, one heart
The images reveal the contrast between two key periods in his life. At 19, Tae-seo appears carefree, pedaling his bike with a look filled with enthusiasm. At 30, he stands on a subway platform in uniform, exuding a more composed, mature aura.

This visual face-off highlights the character's outward evolution, while suggesting that certain emotions have remained frozen in time. According to the production team, Yeon Tae Seo is «a character who is calm on the surface, but retains long-buried feelings inside».». They add that Park Jinyoung's natural expressivity enables her to convey this inner transformation perfectly.
Between persistent memories and a controlled present, Shining promises to tell the story of how certain encounters become the light that continues to guide an entire life.
Broadcast from March 6 on jTBC (awaiting OTT).
