Scheduled for March, Shining tells the story of two young adults who, after sharing a world of their own in their youth, gradually become each other's light and anchor.
A reunion marked by time and maturity
Park Jin-young plays Yeon Tae-seo, a train driver with a lucid outlook on life. Attached more to the present than to dreams of the future, he leads an independent, well-adjusted existence, until the day he runs into Mo Eun-ah, his first love at the age of 19. This unexpected encounter shatters his quiet daily life and rekindles emotions he thought were buried.
Kim Min-ju lends her features to Mo Eun-ah, a young woman of assertive sensitivity and communicative energy. A former hotel employee, she now works as the manager of a traditional Seoul guesthouse. As she tries to redefine her life and priorities, the reappearance of Yeon Tae-seo forces her to confront a past she thought was over.
A summer romance tinged with nostalgia
The recently unveiled poster captures the very essence of Shining. The 2 characters appear seated side by side, back to back, bathed in warm summer light and surrounded by greenery. School bags set aside, they contemplate the landscape of a peaceful neighborhood, as if suspended between yesterday and today.
The sentence on the poster, «We were special», The title alone sums up the soul of the drama: a relationship born in the innocence of youth, destined to take on a new form in adulthood. As Yeon Tae-seo bows her head slightly, Mo Eun-ah gazes into the distance, suggesting two different life trajectories, but always linked by the same memory.
Shining will be broadcast from March 6, 2026 at 8:50 pm (KST) on JTBC (waiting for an OTT).
