After a more discreet period on television, Shin Sae-kyeong may well make her return to the small screen in a much-anticipated romantic drama. According to MyDaily, the actress has been offered the lead role in the drama, tentatively titled « The World They're Dating In« adapted from a successful webtoon.
His agency, The Present Company, confirmed the information, while remaining cautious: «Shin Sae-kyeong has received a proposal to star in a drama based on the romantic webtoon “The World They're Dating In” and is currently giving it positive consideration.» A statement which clearly suggests that the project is well advanced, though not yet officialized.
A rational heroine in the chaos of love
Adapted from a webtoon, The World They're Dating In tells the bittersweet, messy and sometimes dizzying story of a woman who dreams of an ordinary life... but has never managed to lead one. A story centered on the quest for emotional balance, between the desire for normality and sentimental contingencies.
Shin Sae-kyeong has been offered the role of Shin Se-wool, A brilliant brand designer, she has little interest in marriage and is convinced that love can (and should) be managed logically and efficiently. But her well-ordered daily routine is shaken when three very different men suddenly burst into her life. Determined to make a «rational» choice, Se-wool gradually discovers that her certainties crumble in the face of unpredictable emotions.
The drama will be directed by Kim Yong-wanknown for his work on The Whirlwind and Head Over Heels, A sensitive, modern and nuanced staging.
Alongside this possible return to television, Shin Sae-kyeong is also preparing to return to the big screen for the first time in around twelve years with the film HUMINT, scheduled for release on February 11. A particularly busy period lies ahead for the actress, who is eagerly awaited on both fronts.
