It's official! Shin Ha-kyun, Oh Jung-se and Heo Sung-tae will star in MBC's upcoming action-comedy drama entitled Fifties Professionals.
Three ordinary men... or almost
Fifties Professionals tells the story of three seemingly ordinary men, each with an explosive past. Once at the top of their respective fields, they find themselves exiled to the remote island of Yeongseon following a mysterious incident. Ten years later, they decide to return to duty to uncover the truth about the day that turned their lives upside down, in a funny, bitter and action-packed investigation.
Shin Ha-kyun will play the role of Jung Ho-myunga former elite agent of the National Intelligence Service. Wrongly accused of a crime he didn't commit, he now lives under a false identity as the chef of a successful Chinese restaurant on the island, while secretly searching for the "object" responsible for his downfall.
Oh Jung-se will play Bong Je-soona North Korean special agent who has lost his memory. Once nicknamed BulgaeAs "the North's most formidable human weapon", he was stranded on the island after a mission accident. Plagued by confusion and a tyrannical boss, he tries to piece together his past piece by piece.
Last but not least, Heo Sung-tae will slip into the role of Kang Beom-ryongHo-myung, a legendary former gangster turned convenience store manager. Former number two in the infamous Hwasan gang, he arrives on the island to find the "object" and Ho-myung, driven by a desire for revenge and the restoration of lost order, while looking after his boss still in prison.
A muscular comedy scheduled for 2026
A mix of action, mystery and dark humor, Fifties Professionals promises an original story led by a trio of actors with undeniable charisma. The drama is scheduled to air on first half of 2026 on MBC.
