Seo Yea-ji: 3 must-see (re)kdramas before his comeback in 2025

Seo Yea-ji is one of our favorite k-drama actresses for the range of emotions she's able to convey with her characters, but also for the increasingly beautiful outfits she's worn in her latest kdramas. But since 2021, her career was on pause after a controversy in which she was accused of manipulating her ex-boyfriend Kim Jung Hyun. Although the actress apologized for this, she has since remained in the background, having had no projects since the release of Eve in 2022.

Those days are over, as the actress will be making her comeback in 2025 it has been announced that she will take part in the k-drama Forest of Humans (인간의 숲) adapted from a horror webtoon, whose synopsis promises to be chilling: "The violence and death that occur when the concentration camp where psychopathic killers are gathered for experiments is crippled."

So if, like us, you love Seo Ye-ji or if you'd like to (re)discover her, here are some of the must-see dramas in which she takes part.

It's Okay not to be Okay

Released in 2020, this drama brings together Kim Soo-hyun, Seo Yea-ji and Oh Jung-Se for a moving, endearing trio.

The story? Moon Gang-tae is a nurse in a psychiatric hospital. Endowed with many qualities (intelligence, patience, empathy), he devotes his life to looking after his older brother Moon Sang-tae, who suffers from autism. Their daily lives change the day they cross paths with Ko Mun-yeong, a famous author of children's stories, whose behavior is unpredictable and marked by antisocial personality disorder. Gang-tae and Mun-yeong have nothing in common: he shuns love, she has never known it. However, as their relationship develops, these two dented beings will grow closer, heal together from their past wounds and learn to love. A touching series about reconstruction, self-acceptance and the strength of human bonds.

Seo Yea-Ji plays a woman wounded at heart, who retraces her history through her books. Cold on the outside but sensitive, she's inevitably a duo that works well with Kim Soo-hyun also known for his ability to embody emotions so well. If you like romance dramas, this one's perfect, but also friendship dramas, since the role of the autistic brother is central and we get very attached to the bonds he also creates with the person of Seo Yea-ji. Finally, the soundtrack is one of our favorites.

Eve

In Eve, Lee Ra-El (Seo Yea-ji) sees her life turned upside down by the tragic death of her father, caused by powerful figures. Years later, she returns under a new identity to seek revenge, targeting LY Group CEO Kang Yoon-Kyum (Park Byeong-eun). But between manipulation, passion and justice, her quest for vengeance will put her own feelings to the test.

Released in 2022, this kdrama on the theme of revenge shows once again Seo Yea-ji's talent as an actress, not only in the emotions she conveys with her facial expressions, but also in her presence and choice of outfit... A role which, as in It's okay not to be okay, explores in depth her character's emotions and suffering. We also love the tension between her and Han So-Ra, played by Soo Yun. Once again, a trio that carries us along.

Bonus

For my part, I had the opportunity to follow up with Eve and Hwarangwhere Seo Yea-ji played a smaller role, that of Princess Suk-myung, alongside Park Seo-joon and Park Hyung-sik. A more discreet role, in stark contrast to those she played in later years, which (in my opinion) suited her much better.

What about you? Have you already discovered Seo Yea-ji's talent? What's your favorite drama with her?
