Under the radar in its early days, Holmes Salon is now one of ENA's most popular dramas. And good news for fans: season 2 is officially in the works !
A quiet start... for a growing success
Broadcast on ENA and available on Coupang Play, Holmes Salon began timidly with barely 1.3 % audience for its first episode. But thanks to word-of-mouth and strong female characters, the series was able to captivate more and more viewers. The result: a peak at 4.6 % for the last episode and a final average of 3,6 % according to Nielsen Korea.
A real success for a drama with an original universe combining mystery, action, comedy and female solidarity.
A team of investigators like no other
The drama follows four women as different as they are endearing, who live in the same residential area and decide to unite to solve their community's problems:
- Gong Mi-ri (Lee Si-young), self-taught detective and protective mother
- Chu Kyung-ja (Jung Young-joo), charismatic former cop
- Jeon Ji-hyun (Nam Ki-ae), "Queen of Insurance
- Park So-hee (Dasom), expert in odd jobs
Called the "ZoomvengersThey investigate with courage and a sense of humor, following the rhythm of everyday cases that are often tinged with drama.
A tense end to the season (spoilers!)
In the final episode, they face a killer nicknamed the "Ribbon Man. Mi Ri discovers that her daughter has been kidnapped and is in a burning hospital. Without hesitation, she dives into the flames to save her, with the help of her friends. A poignant scene praised by many fans online:
"Moms fighting together, it was both badass and too cute."
"Lee Si Young's performance made me cry."
A new character, Choi Yang-hee (Kim Geum-soon), even joins the team in the final minutes, heralding a renewal in the group's dynamic for the sequel.
Season 2 already eagerly awaited
Confirmed the day after the final broadcast, Season 2 will again be directed by Min Jin-kibest known for Military Prosecutor Doberman. The main cast is in advanced discussions to return, and fans can already look forward to new surveys, new alliances... and perhaps new hazards.
Inspired by a novel, but quickly detached from its original plot, the series has built a universe of its own, to the point where a second spin-off novel in preparation.
